SOLON, Ohio — A 12-year-old girl scared away a burglar who tried to break into her Solon apartment Sunday.
According to Solon police reports, it happened at just after 12 a.m. on Park East Drive.
A man reportedly opened the sliding patio door of the apartment and tried to enter.
The 12-year-old was sitting on the couch watching TV at the time, according to her father, and screamed. The suspect ran off in an unknown direction.
Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The blinds on the patio door were closed, and the door was shut but unlocked at the time of the incident, according to police.
The suspect is described as a tall, young black male. Anyone with information should call Solon police.
